iPads in Theatre? Of course, what better way to allow students to work on correcting themselves. Multiple teams are rehearsing endlessly each class period asking others to stop and watch. We need advice and must learn to take helpful critiques so we can improve. What an awesome difference it makes if someone will record us, then allow our own group to see the mistakes 1st hand, or items that could be improved upon immediately. Students can use the iPads and the apps to video tape themselves making commercials, newscast, book trailers, duets, short skits, monologues, and contest pieces. Theatre isn't just about the actor! Dropping these recorded segments into the apps, adding music, splicing segments, working with green screens, just to name a few, will allow the students to reach beyond our 4 wall classroom. Theatrics enhanced with Technology can be so much more educational. Students can take ownership of presentation projects, working to enhance their work through the technology. Many times a student is more interested in a behind the scenes approach. Allowed the opportunity, these iPads will unleash the creative flow bringing every member into projects where before those not on stage might be left out. Everyone matters, everyone is needed, everyone is important!
