As a special education teacher, I support my students to succeed not just in my classroom but in their other classes. In order to support my students in reaching this goal, they need the necessary materials such as binders, pencils, and pencils sharpeners.
To help my students focus, I strive to create interactive and engaging lessons; within my lessons, rewards are given to help students to stay motivated and work towards their academic goals. Sporadically, students are given raffle tickets when they are caught engaged and working cooperatively with other students during peer tutoring, partner sharing, or working on classroom projects. At the end of the week, students may win cute pencils, folders, and other school supplies. Therefore, school supplies are not just given, but they are earned. Of course, there are exceptions.
There have been several occasions when students are in need of school materials because their parents are unable to purchase them. Some of these students' family are facing homelessness, a parent losing a job, and more. It is obvious that these materials are a must in my classroom.
