My third grade students are incredibly inquisitive and love to learn. Unfortunately, their access to knowledge is limited due to the low socio-economic level of our community. The majority of my students do not have a computer in their home and lack access to the Internet. My school is a Title 1 school with 85% of our students at a low-income level. With the huge cuts in our school’s budget this year, there is no money for new computers. Most of our computers are older than my 8 and 9-year-old students. Although my third graders need to learn how to use technology to access information, the few computers we have are antiquated, outdated, and unreliable.
