My students attend a small rural middle school. Fifty-four percent of them are at the poverty level. Many of them do not have access to books outside of the school library. Although many of my students are at the poverty level, they still have a thirst for knowledge and learning. Many are not exposed to a love of learning and education outside of a school environment.
My students bring me great joy. The looks on their faces when they read something that inspires them, intrigues them, or makes them think about something in another way are priceless. I cannot tell you how much of an impact my students have made on my life. They make me eager to get to school each day.
