Our classroom is called the Honey Bee Hive. My Honey Bee learners need headphones so they can work independently on classroom laptops. On the laptops students are able to access motivating learning games in math, science and ELA, as well as complete assessments online. This access not only makes learning more fun and engaging for them, but it also prepares them for technological advancement as they navigate through life. Trying to have 25 students doing laptop work and assessments with no headphones available has been quite challenging to say the least. Headphones, although listed on school supply lists, were not financially feasible for my students' families so we have been sharing with other rooms however most of these do not work or we run into a scheduling problem which ends in my students not being able to use the headphones. This experience is frustrating for my learners so I am looking for assistance to help them succeed!
