We have many children from different countries that do not have basic school supplies. In addition, many families are not able to buy uniforms for their children. Therefore, some children come to school out of proper uniform attire and feel left out. The clothes that they are wearing may be too small or handed down to them from several other children in the family. As a result, they may not be as productive during the school day.
As the school counselor, I have found that when the children are in their uniform, they are feeling their best. They do not have to worry about whether they are wearing the most modern clothes. They can focus on their learning.
