I feel that books are the most profound need in our classroom. I chose books by authors that we will study and make connections to as we become authors ourselves. By having a rich and diverse library in our classroom, it will allow my students to turn into exceptional readers and thinkers. Reading is a big part of our day and something my students look forward to. The impact on learning is tremendous when given a thoughtful library and room to read and imagine! We will study authors like Eric Carle, Dr. Seuss, and Kevin Henkes to name just a few. I can't imagine the joy on my students' faces when they see the various books that they will be able to choose from. I am teaching two grade levels this year and really need the resources of a full library that support the needs of kindergarten and first grade.
