When envisioning a year of successful reading and writing, the content and the books represent a partial image. The materials and supplies that I am requesting on behalf of our 4th-grade scholars complete that picture. These essentials already have a "home"; we just need your help in getting everything in the door! The pencils, pocket folders, colors, and other supplies of the like will be made available to scholars so that everyone may fully engage in learning as soon as they enter the classroom. Personal items including a pencil pouch and Ziploc bags are intended to develop students' organizational skills and personal management skills. Finally, basic cleaning supplies such as paper towels, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer and kleenex will help ensure that students are comfortable and that class time runs smoothly from day to day.
Donations to this project will help improve our scholars' understanding of and competency in the rigorous demands of 4th grade English Language Arts.
As a first year teacher, I have done extensive research and reading on best practices for planning, classroom management, and instruction for intermediate grades. Our classroom materials are the missing piece that will support my students in beginning to see themselves as great readers, writers, and life-long learners. Thank you for your support in making this a reality!
