My students need tangible, short term rewards to get and keep them on task. If they can improve their behavior in the short run, they can create new, successful habits for the long run.
Students will be able to meet positive social, emotional, and behavioral goals throughout the school day and earn tallies for doing that. The tallies can be exchanged for preferred rewards/snacks at the end of the day/week to reinforce the benefits of being a contributing part of the community. We've chosen healthy snacks and small toys and sensory "fidgets" that will reward them and also help them to stay focused and on track during class.
We are hopeful that they will be able to change themselves enough that they are able to be reintegrated into general education classes.
