Students learn best in a small group setting. In my classroom I do small group instruction for literacy, math, and interventions to help meet the needs of all students. With small group instruction, I can meet students where they are at and focus on what they specifically need to be successful. In past years, I have struggled to keep my small group area organized. I use white boards, charts, manipulatives, and various other materials to help students engage and interact with the lesson.
This easel with help me better serve students by providing an organized area to keep all the supplies and a way for students to interact with each lesson. Students will be able to utilized the easel whiteboard to participate in lessons and do literacy and math activities on. I will use the easel to display and store flip charts for student reference. The white board will be used to directly teach off of and show students examples. The students can use magnetic letters on the board for word study. They can use the whiteboard to do math problems that we can then discuss as a small group. The shelves and storage underneath will allow me to keep materials organized instead of all laying out on a table. The possibilities are endless for this project. I am excited to get started and see all the wonderful things the students will learn in our sensational small groups!
