My students learn better with hands on material and manipulative. Simple pencil and paper does not motivate my students and they need things the will keep them engaged. Many of them struggle with focus and I have learn that hands on material catches their attention and keeps them wanting more.
Since I have been teaching students with disabilities, I have learned that they often pick up skills such as counting, letter, sight words, addition, etc when they can see, hear, and touch items. All of these components are necessary in properly promoting learning to students with special needs.
I have seen first hand how hands on material have worked in my classroom and I know that these products that I have chosen with promote learn and continue to help my students gain new skills.
