My students attend a gifted and talented program in a suburban, public middle school. These students are deep thinker who love digging deep into content and who devour content quickly. They need a constant flow of stimulus and are able to make connections, synthesize information across curriculums, and love to learn. They are eager to have academic conversations and exhibit complex thinking skills. While extremely smart, they are still growing socially and emotionally, learning to make and keep friends, and learning how to be excellent citizens in our community. These students come from a vast and diverse background and represent all socioeconomic backgrounds, and many of them are mulit-lingual. A good portion of these students are also double gifted, meaning that they have a diagnosed learning disability or other challenge while also having an incredibly sharp, inquisitive mind. They are incredible.
