My goal for my students this year is to focus on their language and communication skills. Since my class is nonverbal or very minimally verbal, I know I can make a big difference in their ability to learn, write and retain the alphabet using the proper tools.
Unfortunately, the proper tools are expensive and since my students come from low income homes, most of what they are learning comes from the material I create or buy for my classroom. As a result, I requested items that will help my students touch, feel and see the alphabet letters to help them learn the way they learn best. Having a light panel with the alphabet cards will help the students learn to trace and write the letters of the alphabet. The alphabet sound tubs will help my students touch and feel different items that start with each letter of the alphabet. Many of the other kits and games will help reinforce and solidify the letters and sounds we are learning in the classroom.
