Best Buddies is an amazing program that pairs students with disabilities with their peers. Students participate in activities such as games, art projects, team building, and field trips through out the year.
Our Best Buddies program is integral in developing one to one friendships, bringing about awareness about disabilities, and
enhancing social, emotional and academic well-being of all students. It is amazing to see the long term relationships that have developed through Best Buddies. Many of our buddy pairs continue to remain friends throughout high school and beyond.
We have quite a large program - more than 60 students. We receive no funding from our school district to run our program so we rely strictly on fundraising and donations. Snacks are always needed as our meetings are late in the morning when our kids are quite hungry. Not everyone brings snacks, so this will be a great way for everyone to share a snack together while meeting the needs of those students that don't have access to food. We are asking for games and sensory tools that can be used with all students, including our students who have physical and sensory needs.
