If my classroom is able to get a TIME for Kids subscription, my students will be able to get a different type of reading material IN THEIR HANDS. With technology taking off, far too often I see students having no idea about news papers, articles, and not knowing that there is more than chapter books and the internet to read from. Students will gain social studies knowledge as well! I plan on using TIME for Kids in my ELA centers. I found questions that go along with the subscription on the TIME for Kids website to increase reading comprehension as well as many other reading skills that students desperately need.
Writing should be fun and organized! My students will greatly benefit from 3-ring binders. These binders will be used as students writing binders. For now we will be using thin folders that will not stay organized for long. Having binders will make it easy for students to take out their writing when need be for editing, revising, and sharing with others. Students will also be able to use the rings to keep their writing rubrics, proofreading mark reminders, etc. Students will be able to stay much more organized and will not have to stress to find what they need in their binder!
