I am blessed to have come from a private school in Greenwich where students had ample supplies, materials and classrooms that are built for learning. Coming to the Bronx is a big change and I want my students to have a warm, welcoming environment as well. I am lucky to have a large library collection but need shelves to display books appropriately so kids can get excited about reading topics that speak to them!
I want to set up fun science and math hands-on learning experiences so kids can work with partners and groups to make each light bulb moment meaningful to them. Collaboration is key and having more rug spaces and varied areas in the classroom allow for students to have separate spaces to work on different activities.
