This project will contribute to pivotal times in our classroom day. The carpet will bring students together for morning meeting, whole group learning, small group interactive learning, opportunities for discussion of texts and math concepts.
This carpet will be home base for my class to meet, share ideas, make friendships, make a plan and get to the work of learning.
Students will love this carpet because it is a familiar spot for them to go to when meeting whole group and creates routine in the classroom. It is a cozy and safe space for students to return to after each independent learning activity.
