The use of STEM bins will encourage out of the box thinking and help the students to use materials they are given to create what is on their task cards. The students will be able to use pipe cleaners, playstix, play-dough, wood sticks with Velcro attached, and other materials to create things on their task cards. A student may be handed a box with pipe stem cleaners and their task card may state "build a bridge using these materials".
The use of alphabet stamps and word tiles will help students to be able to practice their spelling and reading their high frequency words and allow the students to be able to do more hands-on activities.
