Having lap desks will allow my students to work wherever they feel most comfortable throughout the day. The wobble cushions will allow students focus as they move in their chairs. The balance balls would be a great way to sit at their desks and still have the movement that they need. Being in an inclusion classroom where students have various needs, having this flexibility would benefit the entire class.
By donating to this project you are not only helping to improve comfort for my students, you will ultimately increase academic achievement. Being a first year teacher in a district where funding is limited, finding the money to support your students to give them them the learning environment that they need and deserve can be challenging. I know that all of my students would benefit from this type of student centered learning while meeting their individual needs.
