Support Ms. Koja's classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
Student choice is a vital part of my first grade classroom. Flexible seating options would give my students the freedom to choose a seating arrangement that best supports their learning. The wide variety of choices such as the wobble chair, lap desk, comfy cushions, and wobbly seats would give my students practice in making good choices according to their individual needs. For example, my wobbly learners would be able to use the wobble chair on a desk or the wobbly seats on the floor. Students that like to work while lying down can use the comfy cushions to get comfortable.
Also, this would help all students be successful. Flexible seating would reduce the amount of behavior problems in the classroom. Thus, students would be engaged and motivated to do participate in learning activities since they would be given many seating choices throughout the day. Overall, this project would dramatically change the learning experience in my classroom. I want students to feel like our classroom is as comfortable as their home and flexible seating would give us this opportunity.
