This project is about supporting literacy at a Title 1 school in middle Georgia. We are at the bottom of the reading scores in our county, and need all the help we can get to get these students reading. We are putting all of our energy into inspiring a love of reading, and we are meeting kids where they are. They love graphic novels, so we are trying to build our supply so they can find books that they love that will transition them to regular chapter books and novels.
Our students LOVE the graphic novels and series books, and they are checked out CONSTANTLY. I chose these books because they provide some variety to the same old books that are being checked out over and over. Also, I chose books that are hardcover or library binding so that they can stand up against wear and tear.
