Many students have shown an interest in life science this year. Two of the most asked questions are about dissecting frogs and hatching chickens or ducks. We're asking for dissecting kits and metal trays so we have the tools to do the dissections during their choice seminar time. These can be reused from year to year as well. The incubator and candling light will allow students to see the whole process of hatching up close and personally learn how to take care of animals as they grow up.
The tools we've requested would help them in their journey towards personalizing their learning in science, art and math.
We also have a lot of very artistic students and I wanted to offer them seminars to teach them techniques and give them time to show their creativity. The brushes and paint we've requested will help them to complete their independent and group canvases. They've been fortunate to have an artist teach them how to build their own wooden canvases and will begin to sketch their designs this week. We're also planning more projects and seminars where these tools can be used.
