By offering a well-stocked classroom library for my students, I hope to foster a love of reading and provoke discussions between peers about books they have read.
Creating book clubs and having students read not just the same book, but the same series and be able to discuss the progression of the story line and the growth of the characters, particularly when they are similar in age to my students, allows them to explore another dimension to their reading experience.
Since I allow my students to choose their own books, having lots of options for them to choose from helps them keep interested in reading, purely for the enjoyment of reading.
