Imagine having to take the bus, train, or having to walk to school on a daily basis. They also walk through very dangerous neighborhoods on their way to school. They see crime, drugs, and abuse on a daily basis. They do not have the same luxurious that other children their same age do. These children just need love and the same opportunities that their peers have so they can be a successful part of society. These children can be anything from lawyers, doctors, or maybe the next president with the same opportunities as their peers in wealthy neighborhoods. My students come from a very low income area in Chicago. They love coming to school and seeing what exciting learning activities we are going to do that day. The classroom gives them a safe environment that they don't have to worry about crime or drugs. They know when they come to school that they are going to receive everything that they need to learn.
