It's one thing to read about music of different cultures and lands and another to actually hear it! Using headphones with their chromebooks, and actually being able to individually listen to and hear real musical examples, will bring my music students' learning to life. They will be able to research, collaborating in small groups, become experts, and report to their classmates on the musical topics they've chosen.
Not only will students will use their headphones and chromebooks to listen to and learn about music, they will also use them to hear music they've actually created, and assess their knowledge of rhythms studied.
