My classroom is like a science lab, except for Social Studies. Both the students and I ask questions, then search for answers. I facilitate student learning by asking students to test their conclusions against primary source documents while they pursue truth. Then they share what they have found through healthy debate and discussion.
Students represent their learning by creating artistic posters and multimedia presentations. This is why colorful cardstock is such a necessity in our classroom.
When students give multimedia presentations, they have to present from the back of the room where the teacher computer is. An air mouse will allow them to present from anywhere in the classroom.
