Our school is a public school, 80% + low SES, about 95% Hispanic. The neighborhood is stable, predominantly single family houses, and most houses were built in the post-WWII boom. Our parents are hard-working, but don't always have the resources to give the kids many opportunities and conversations to support learning science. I live in the neighborhood, and love the relationships we have built in the 15 years I've been on our campus.
