I have selected this play set for my students to increase their gross motor and life/social skills. These are areas my students tend to struggle with. The play set will aide in their ability to communicate with one another through play. They will be able to learn about taking turns, sharing, using manors, and other life/social skills. It will also increase their gross motor skills which is a vital part of them growing to become stronger smarter students.
The play set is the prefect size, not too big and not too small, to accommodate their disabilities. The students in my class have severe disabilities which limit their play on the playground equipment provided by the school. This play set will make a huge difference in their physical activity outside.
Not only will my class benefit from this play set other classes will too. I teach K-2 self-contained Special Ed. and the teacher in the room next to me teaches 3-4 self-contained Special Ed. Both of our classes will be able to use the play set. It would be located right outside of our classrooms which will be prefect to accommodate the student's disabilities.
