Independent reading time is a something my students love. Although they enjoy getting to choose a special place to sit around the room, they are either sitting on a hard floor, often with no back support, or in their plastic desk chairs. They rarely complain about the lack of seating options, but I think about it every time they find their spot. I've tried using pillows and beanbag chairs in the past, but I have found that they lose their fluff by the end of the school year. These chairs are sturdy, yet soft, and have washable covers!
I want my students to be able to get comfy while getting lost in a good book! Comfy floor seats will make their reading time so much better. When reading at home, we curl up on a couch or in our favorite chair, and I want my students to enjoy that same level of comfort in our classroom.
