If all of my students were able to have a wobble stool as their permanent seat in the classroom I believe they could be more successful in every area. According to Maureen Healy, of Psychology Today, 鈥...in many scenarios flexible seating can definitely be a win since it helps children not only feel physically but emotionally comfortable, and engages them to learn in a way that actually works for them!鈥.
Being in a poverty stricken area, these kiddos deserve every chance to get a hand up in the classroom. If this helps them make it through the school day with less stress, then I feel it鈥檚 well worth it. Adding the ability to move as they are being taught and doing seat work will greatly increase their ability to focus. Instead of fidgeting in an unproductive way, the wobble stools allow children to have continuous movement without interruptions.
