These students are in a battle every day to get their basic needs met, let alone the little extras which could enhance their education. We are a Title 1 school, and we have 96% of our students on a free/reduced price lunch. Many of our students' families don't have computers in their home. Their only opportunity to develop technological skills, such as a PowerPoint presentation or a digital story they put together, is in the classroom. We are all working very hard to change both the culture of our school, and the community at large in a positive way. By giving our students a technology background, we are putting them at the head of the line they have been last in for so long.
