My students are of low socioeconomic status with varying readiness levels and background AND I am charged with the responsibility to reach all of them within a small amount of time each day. Too often they have been placed into a class that they are not prepared to be in.
No matter how widely you differentiate, this unfortunately sets students up for failure, not success. Nonetheless, it is not their fault. They are fantastic, valued individuals (The apple of their parents'/guardians' eye) and they deserve the best I can give them.
