When I was a little girl, I feel in love with a book that taught me that anyone can be anything. All they had to do was use their imagination. Imagination is a dream that can take a person anywhere they want.
A dream is where a person can be anyone they want to be, especially someone they read about in a book. Books help us develop and grow our imaginations. My goal for my students is to provide them with books that will do just that, but will also challenge them every day. As a first year teacher, I really need your help to make dreams come true.
The Times for Kids magazines would be amazing ways to help show students real-life examples of their dreams. These magazines take them all over the world!
At our school, some of the students have a hard time reading. They still love to read, but it is hard for them. The students in my class have a hard time sounding out words and phrases like you and I learned to read. They look at the whole word and tend to guess what it is based on words they already know. I am looking forward to the opportunity of using the phonemic awareness books with some of my lower students. I would love to take those books and teach my students how to learn new words so doors can be opened wider for their reading journey.
