My students attend a high performing and diverse school where academics is of top priority and art takes the back seat. The district puts a lot of financial support into maintaining their academic curriculum and funding for art is extremely limited. My class consists of high achievers who excel in academics, but struggle with projects that require them to be artistic and creative, and low performing students who excel when given the opportunity to express their artistic side.
