My project request consisted of three different items that will allow my first graders to move around and be more comfortable. These items will be used daily and the students will rotate them. My students work very hard each and every day! They sit for long periods of time. I have requested several wobble chairs that the students will get to use. These chairs will be used at their regular classroom desks and they will be the "owners" of the chairs for the entire day. The next day they will rotate to a friend. I also requested stools to be used at my guided reading table. I hold small group guided reading class each day for an hour. The regular classroom chairs won't fit properly under the table so these new stools will allow the students to sit closer to the desk and not bump into each other. Finally, I have requested portable desks that the students will have the advantage of using daily for laptop and written work instruction. All of these requests will make my classroom more pleasing to my students and allow them to be more comfortable and focused each and every day.
