This laptop will allow me to provide my students access to digital resources and content as well as complete the Dibels benchmark tests and progress monitoring. With a computer, I will be able to complete lesson plans, maintain a class website, and create/present new content through Google Classroom. With this laptop, I will be able to create online activities to support their learning. They will be able to access these online activities online at home. The laptop is portable, allowing me to use it for mandated meetings, including students' READ Plan meetings. I have requested a touchscreen laptop because the Dibels testing, which all of my students take several times throughout the year, requires you to identify areas where a student may have misread a word, omitted a word, or have a different letter/sound correspondence. This is done quickly and efficiently on the Dibels test and provides immediate feedback on areas of need that might require differentiation. Unfortunately, my school's budget does not have room to provide a newer computer for teachers. I currently am using a dated computer that continuously shuts down and has several areas of the keyboard that do not work.
