Having taught in another district, I have seen first hand the access that iPads give to children. I have seen children who have never left their neighborhoods visit the Olympic village. I have guided students who began the year as "pre-readers" to research, write, and present reports on a topic of their choosing.
The location of my five year-old students' neighborhood and the socio-economic status of their families must not deny them these opportunities to succeed in today's tech savvy world. My current students deserve the chance to have these experiences.
