In our library storytime area, we currently have a small, carpet remnant which is inadequate for our class sizes. It is difficult to manage students as they come into the library, so they make good choices about where they sit. Students often try to squeeze on the too-small rug, crowding each other. Other times students step over other children to fit between two other children.
A new library rug will be inviting for students to sit on and help with classroom management. When our students enter the library, they will be directed to sit on a colored square on the rug. The rug has 30 squares, so it can accommodate even large classes. Students will each have their own space on the library rug, so they can be great listeners and learners.
