I have 25 active 3rd graders who need a variety of seating options especially during independent reading and writers workshop. Currently, I only have a few flexible seating options and I can see the benefits for the few students who are able to use them.
I want to make sure every student in my classroom has a learning environment and seat where they can be successful and comfortable. While some students benefit from traditional desks and chairs, many students need a non-traditional seat. Many teachers who use flexible seating state that they can see many benefits including physical health, comfort and a commitment and motivation to learning. It is my hope that these supplies will benefit my students to be comfortable, focused and motivated to continue to learn and grow in the classroom.
