I am a Special Education Math and Science teacher at a Title I school in Lake County, California. For the past four years, our county has been hit hard with wildfires. Every year the students in my school district have been impacted significantly. Currently, I have a total of 31 different students I see throughout the school day. My largest class period is 14 students. My students are in the Mild/Moderate Special Education range.
I am requesting these technology materials to give my students better access to technology in the classroom. My classroom only has eight Chromebooks for the students to use. That is not enough for each student to use one during the class period. This limits the activities I can do with my students. Having access to the Chromebooks helps my students with reading, math practice, science research, and general life skills.
I am requesting the headphones for my students to use in class because any of them need to listen to audio as their reading levels are so low. It is very distracting to my class to have the audio playing on the different Chromebooks at the same time. Most of my students cannot afford to purchase their own headphones.
Please donate to our classroom technology needs.
