The curious students in my room beg me to read books to them that they can not yet read themselves. (And I do, with great enjoyment!) My students are emerging and early readers who are just learning about the wonderful world of books. As first graders, they are spending most of their day in a classroom that promotes the love of literacy. They spend every morning reading self-selected books, working with me in guided reading groups, and completing hands-on literacy activities. Every evening they take a book home from my classroom to read and then return the next day.
