As a first-year, multi-subject middle school teacher, I have been teaching daily PE lessons with sparse, hand-me-down supplies. PE is a challenging subject for many students at this age (12) and having exciting and diverse equipment is an important factor is encouraging them to participate in physical activity.
To make my PE lessons more inclusive, cooperative, and engaging for preteens I am asking for sets of basic supplies such as soccer balls and basket balls as well as multi-use supplies such as hula hoops and bean bags.
I will be using these supplies during my daily 45-minute PE block and intend to use them in relay races, drills, and a variety of games.
