As an inner city school with limited resources, class sizes are large and there often isn't enough equipment for every student to participate in gym activities.
Donations to this project will help me engage more students while teaching the basics, and let everyone take part in class activities at the same time. A whiteboard will help me to show large classes correct positioning and movements, while the laminating machine will allow me to place durable instructional posters on gym walls. Speakers will foster student enthusiasm and participation by letting me play music during activities. Additional sports equipment will allow me to create stations so that more students can participate in games.
Giving all students the opportunity to take part in activities at one time allows me to have some students engage in cooperative learning and peer teaching, freeing me up to reinforce instruction with individualized attention.
