In art class, often we share art materials. Due to Covid-19, we are unable to share supplies. We will have in-person and virtual learners. I will create art kits so students can explore art and culture all around the world, with the tools they will need to express themselves using hands-on tools even if they are in their living room. I have some supplies already purchased and saved up, such as colored pencils, crayons and markers to add to these art kits. Students will also have crayons, markers, scissors, glue, pencils and erasers in their own materials anyhow. In this kit students will learn how to sketch using charcoal, use watercolor paint, add to the drawings. The copy paper I will use to print lessons on as well. I also have colored paper to add. I will purchase with my school funds folders, bags, and odds and ends to our art kits. Please help us get Art Kits to All! Our students need the arts now more than ever, as they are missing lots of social interaction and have over-use of technology, even before COVID-19! Art brings self confidence and expression helps use have the conversations we need to have about how we feel and how to come up with solutions to problems, that sometimes we didn’t really fully understand.
