These chairs will help to improve a learning environment for a group of kids who put 100% into their education everyday. by creating a safe space for students to think, create, and explore the educational process we set them up for a better chance at success. Students have a packed day and just like adults sitting and maintaining engagement is a challenge when the environment lacks a sense of warm or comfort. An added disadvantage for my students is the sad fact they lack these luxuries when they go home as well. Because we are a Title 1 (low income school) most of the students have external stresses that add to the stress of daily school work and the ability to focus in a confined desk and chair situation does not work well for them. They tend to engage in a more relaxed and personal environment, this is where the chairs come into play. They don't feel as confined and are able to relax and focus on the task at hand. They are able to focus and complete their work thus creating a positive reinforcement of good grades, knowledge, and the skills necessary to be successful and rise in life, rather than fall into the society trap that more than we think are currently living in to be complacent with their situation.
