Having access to an iPad will not only provide extra motivation for my students during speech therapy sessions but will give them the opportunity to learn how to use technology that their peers have access to. There are speech and language apps that help teach vocabulary, sentence structure, and how to produce specific speech sounds.
My students who have limited verbal skills will be able to learn to use the iPad as a communication device which will increase their ability to communicate with staff, peers, and their families. There are so many various ways to use the iPad as a teaching tool that it will greatly benefit every student that I work with.
