With three different novels we can step away from the traditional reading textbook and read more engaging books. Students will be able to read and learn to comprehend larger texts. Novels are not only more engaging, but they are also more interesting as well.
Students will work independently and cooperatively with partners and small groups. They will be actively engaged in the learning process and complete essays and projects related to the novels. This will provide students with access to novels that otherwise they may never read.
My goal as a teacher is to create life-long learners. There is no better way to accomplish this goal to teach children to love to read. I hope that by incorporating a variety of reading materials students will begin a life-long love for literature.
