My students are exceptional in so many ways. They never give up and surprise me every day. They are exemplary students with special needs and loads of ambition. In our Life Skills classroom, they learn day-to-day functional tasks. They learn social skills, how to communicate more appropriately, follow directions, adhere to routines and procedures, etc. These determined kiddos access their grade level curriculum through basic prerequisite skills. They may take a little longer to get it, but they never stop trying. My students want to be included and accepted by their same-aged peers. They seek all the normal things kids their age want. They just need a little guidance along the way!
