We at Visitacion Valley Middle School are committed to Project-Based Learning, and our projects are best when they are authentic, the students are active, and the learning is applied.
Collaborating to design and create a community mural, my ELD and Spanish students will explore their community, working together to create a narrative of love, literacy and liberation.
We are building community by studying our own neighborhood using written and oral communication, and honoring each other's voices. The Visitacion Valley neighborhood has a long history, and is a hidden gem of San Francisco. Our mural will beautify our campus, and be a bilingual, positive legacy for future generations of students.
