Our classroom is like a second home. Just like any home, there is a place where people gather to talk, share and enjoy spending time with each other. I want to create a space just like that in our classroom.
A large comfortable carpet will transform our classroom. In this gathering spot, we will hold our "morning meetings" and our "afternoon wrap ups". Our gathering spot area is where we will have conversations, listen to one another and learn to respect different perspectives. It will be place where we read together and share ideas. Students will also utilize the space during the day to work collaboratively with partners and small groups.
